Welcome to Trezor Start

Secure your crypto in just a few steps. This page will guide you through setting up your Trezor hardware wallet safely and easily.

Step 1: Unbox Your Trezor

Ensure the holographic seal on your Trezor's packaging is intact. If it appears tampered with or broken, do not use the device. Contact Trezor support immediately.

Step 2: Connect Your Trezor

Go to suite.trezor.io to download the Trezor Suite — the official desktop and web application to set up and manage your wallet. Never install software from unofficial or third-party sources.

Once installed:

  • Plug in your Trezor device via USB.

  • Follow the on-screen instructions in Trezor Suite.

Step 3: Install Firmware

If your device is new, you will be prompted to install the latest firmware. This ensures your device is secure and up to date.

🔒 Tip: Trezor ships devices without firmware as an added security layer.

Step 4: Create a New Wallet or Recover an Existing One

  • Create new wallet: Generate a new, unique recovery seed (also called a recovery phrase). Write this down exactly as shown, and store it offline in a safe place.

  • Recover wallet: Use your recovery seed if you're restoring a wallet from another device.

⚠️ Important: Never enter your recovery seed on a computer or phone. Only use your Trezor device to input your seed when prompted.

Step 5: Secure and Verify

Once set up, you can:

  • Set a PIN code to prevent unauthorized access.

  • Verify addresses on your Trezor device screen before approving transactions.

Step 6: Start Using Your Wallet

You can now send, receive, and manage your crypto assets securely using Trezor Suite.
